What is ROAR?
It is a Youth project competition that is run in schools for 7-11 years olds where they come up with an idea that will change the world. Lions Clubs help support the school in running the competition and award certificates for individual schools which are then entered into the district competition. This project is supported by 8billion ideas, an award-winning education company who inspire children to think big and dream big.
Why should we do ROAR?
It is a great way to get involved with local schools and open doors to other projects e.g. Wild Tribe Books, Sight Camera, Young Leaders in Service. It also gets the name of Lions out there and is lots of fun for everyone involved.
How much does it cost?
Nothing for the school and just £185 from the Lions Club to sponsor the school (this can come from your charity account). You can of course sponsor as many schools as you want.
What do I need to do?
Get in touch with a local school (there are letter templates in the bookshelf), then sign them up using the online form and get your club to pay the district treasurer.
How do I find out more?
See the Multiple District Book Shelf here which details everything you will need for your ROAR journey: LIONS Roar
